1. Tell us a bit about yourself - what's your background?
Following four years in NUIG, which included a year studying French in Nice, South of France (where I may have gatecrashed some parties at the Cannes Film Festival!), I completed a Masters in Journalism in DCU. I joined Newstalk radio as a researcher and within a year I was promoted to producer. I was then offered a role as a television producer with RTE.
In 2009, I emigrated to Vancouver where I worked for one of Canada's fastest growing companies, with 25 offices from coast to coast on various different time zones.
After seven years, I returned to Dublin and decided to join Phoenix as I was drawn to the team’s energy, passion and ethos to be different.
2. Why recruitment?
Recruitment has always appealed to me as I love interacting with people and seeing what makes them tick, which comes in useful for recruitment marketing and analytics! It’s great to see our consultants help clients and candidates reach their career goals because we spend so much time at work, it’s important to feel fulfilled.
3. What makes the #PhoenixFamily different?
As professional search partners, we truly believe that the people we work with aren’t just names in a database - we take the time to build long-lasting relationships, and go above and beyond to provide valuable, free guides, templates and tips to inform and delight our customers. That’s why we’ve invested so much in the latest tech, from digital marketing and AI, to engage top talent and build brand awareness before, during and after the hiring process.
4. What do you consider your biggest achievement to date?
Professionally, I’ve loved being on radio and writing for various publications. I’m also obsessed with all things marketing, so I feel blessed doing something I’m so passionate about.
Personally, moving back to Ireland with a 7 month old (and dog!) to start again, and now I’ve got a 2 and 3 year old, so life’s never boring!
5. What's the best piece of advice you've been given that you share with our #PhoenixPeople?
It may sound cliche, but do what you love and you’ll never have to work another day in your life. With the right direction, you’ll find your niche.
