Role: Regional Finance Director – Americas

My client is seeking a dynamic and energetic Regional Finance Director (FD) to lead the finance function for a high-growth, fast-moving, multinational business with a turnover of approximately $120m. This business is experiencing strong organic growth, supplemented by a robust M&A strategy, with the most recent acquisition completed in August 2024. The role will oversee operations in the US, Canada, Cayman, Barbados, and Brazil, providing crucial financial leadership during this exciting period of expansion and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all financial activities across the Americas region, ensuring alignment with global standards and reporting requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of an efficient, best-in-class finance function to support rapid business growth, including finance systems implementation and post-M&A integration.
  • Partner closely with the sales leadership to support business growth, providing financial insights and strategies to drive revenue expansion.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with group-level requirements in a multinational environment.
  • Manage offshored shared services and collaborate within a matrix management structure.
  • Lead change management initiatives, including finance systems implementations (such as SAP) and process improvements, to streamline global operations and improve financial efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and direction to finance teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Must-Haves:

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification, with a preference for Big 4 background.
  • Experience in professional services or similarly fast-moving industries.
  • Prior experience working within a private equity (PE) environment or dealing with complex, fast-paced business transformations.
  • Proven experience in multinational finance, including group reporting, budgeting, and managing operations across multiple countries.
  • Strong background in leading change management initiatives, including finance systems implementations and post-M&A integrations.
  • A proactive and consultative approach, with a proven ability to partner with business leaders to drive growth.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented mindset with a strong financial acumen and a focus on continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Behaviours:

  • High-energy leader with exceptional communication and team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be both strategic and hands-on, with a focus on solving problems and implementing change.
  • Collaborative and consultative business partner, capable of working across functions to achieve common goals.
  • Strong understanding of global processes and financial systems, acting as a global process owner in various financial operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance leader to join a growing, dynamic business that values innovation, teamwork, and operational excellence. The role will suit someone who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and is ready to make a significant impact.
