Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively advise business partners on a wide variety of privacy matters.
- Work collaboratively with legal colleagues and partners on legal and regulatory privacy related matters.
- Be the primary point of contact for inquiries about group compliance with international privacy regulations and laws, including GDPR.
- Develop a keen understanding of the business and its operational and commercial goals and develop positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organisation.
- Advise internal business units and stakeholders on compliance obligations and risk related to international privacy laws and regulations, particularly GDPR
- Draft, review and negotiate data agreements (e.g., data protection addendums)
- Conduct privacy assessments (e.g., DPIAs, LIAs, TIAs)
- Coordinate the development and ongoing updates of key privacy program documentation (e.g., records of processing activities, privacy policies and procedures).
- Respond to and facilitate the completion of data subject requests
- Support ad hoc projects.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister, authorised to practice in Ireland.
- 3+ years PQE of privacy experience focused on issues related to EU/UK privacy, data protection or related regulatory matters (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive).
- Proven ability to review, develop, and maintain multiple regulatory frameworks which comply with relevant privacy law and regulations whilst having regard to commercial activities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and processes in line with deadlines.
- Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders - internal and external.
- Adaptable, commercially astute, motivated.
