Tax Manager - Renewable Energy Sector

Reporting directly to the Director of Taxation and CFO, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with a premier organization shaping the future of sustainable energy.

Role Overview:

As the Tax Manager, you'll be pivotal in the Accounting department, spearheading US tax compliance, financial reporting, and tax planning initiatives. As a subject matter expert, you'll bring extensive knowledge of US federal and state corporate tax accounting, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements for our private company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of company tax matters, including income tax, property tax, and other state and local taxes.
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provision processes to ensure precise and timely tax accounting and disclosure.
  • Drive US tax compliance, coordinating internal schedules with external tax preparers, and ensuring accuracy in return reviews.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between internal and external stakeholders to meet compliance deadlines and requirements.
  • Lead Federal and State government tax audits, directly engaging with IRS and state auditors as needed.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of IRS or state income tax notices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • CPA or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 7 years of ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of US Federal and State income tax regulations, with a commitment to staying updated on evolving tax and compliance rules.
  • Proficiency in reviewing corporate and partnership tax returns, meeting compliance deadlines.
  • Experience managing partner capital accounts and basis adjustments.
  • Experience in partnership taxation, familiarity with the renewable energy industry, and knowledge of HLBV accounting principles are advantageous.
